This sweet little Cobra is based on a "Factory Five" body and componentry and uses a pre-1996 Ford Mustang 5.0 / 5 spd manual transmission / 8.8 rear axle to motivate this beautiful snake down the road. This makes reliability and parts availability non-issues.
The engine was donated by a 1992 Mustang Cobra and has been up-graded with a Powerdyne supercharger. The exhaust gases are efficiently purged through the Jet-coated side exhaust. You can't see it but it performs a vital role in getting the power from the T-5 tranny to the rear axle - a balanced custom driveshaft.
Inside the cockpit, the first thing anyone who knows performance cars will notice is the short-throw factory five speed shifter. A wood steering wheel negotiates the turns the driver commands, factory-style seats keep the driver and passenger firmly planted inside, and the full AutoMeter gauge set keeps tabs on all of the car's vitals.
This car is a whole lot of fun! With the blower and stout drivetrain between the rails, this replica Cobra probably runs as well as any small block Cobra did "back in the day".
