These German personal luxury cars were adapted for the US market and sold very well stateside. The “380" in the model name also denotes the engine size in the vehicle, namely a 3.8l V6 engine. All Mercedes' from this era had standard fuel injection, which was ahead of many American manufacturers who were still phasing out carburetors. A 4-speed automatic transmission shifts as smoothly as you'd expect on a Mercedes classic. This 380SL is painted in a dashing Gold color with a matching Gold hardtop and a Black manually operated soft top that can be raised with the removal of the hardtop. The interchangeable personality of SL's is part of the reason they are so popular to this day and it's great to have essentially three cars in one!
