This accessible slice of German luxury can be seen at our Arizona showroom, located in North Phoenix. These Stuttgart-engineered personal luxury cars, classified by Mercedes as R107, were adapted for the US market and sold very well stateside. The “450" in the model name also denotes the engine size in the vehicle, namely a 4.5l V8 engine. All Mercedes' from this era had standard fuel injection, which was ahead of many American manufacturers who were still phasing out carburetors. A 3-speed automatic transmission shifts as smoothly as you'd expect on a Mercedes classic. This 450SL has been repainted in a vibrant Red color with a matching Red hardtop and a Black manually operated soft top that can be raised with the removal of the hardtop. The interchangeable personality of SL's is part of the reason they are so popular to this day and it's great to have essentially three cars in one! Custom Momo alloy wheels give this Mercedes cool curb appeal. Inside there have been a few minor modifications to the Black leather interior- namely a new Pioneer stereo, added speakers in the storage area behind the seats and Luisi steering wheel.
