The humble FJ40 is essentially a military vehicle at its core that was re-engineered by Toyota for civilian use and has a loyal following among classic 4X4 enthusiasts today. This truck was sourced from Colorado and has been extensively “frame-off restored" to mostly stock specifications starting with media blasting, powder coating and panel replacement/refinishing where needed on the body followed by paint in a rugged “Dune Beige" (1976 Toyota FJ color sample). Every component on this 1978 Toyota has been replaced or reconditioned according to the seller right down to the bolts and screws. The 2F 4.2l Inline 6 engine that came with this vehicle new (stated by the seller, unconfirmed by Gateway Classic Cars) was rebuilt as part of the restoration along with the 4-speed manual transmission that has a new clutch. Both front and rear differentials have been rebuilt. Furthermore, limited slip has been added to the rear which is an upgrade and should help you out on the trails. Bilstein shocks, all new suspension parts and a 2.5" lift to account for the larger wheels and Yokohama tires make this Land Cruiser a piece of cake to operate and enjoy! Inside this FJ40 you'll find a factory-style interior that has been reupholstered in Black vinyl with all the correct gauges and control knobs.
