In 1994, Pontiac introduced the 4L60e 4 speed automatic transmission which replaced the 700R4. These are very highly optioned cars with AC, AM/FM radio with cassette, cruise control, lumbar support, power brakes, power steering, power locks, power windows, tilt wheel, keyless entry, seat belts, airbags, anti-theft system, anti-lock brakes, and leather interior.
