1947 Cadillac Series 62

The convertible top is tan cloth and is automatic with the switch of a button. Cadillac was, and is always, promoting luxury and creature comforts that other manufacturers can't touch. The beautiful 62 Series rides on wide white wall tires. Many don't know that white walls were developed due to original rubber being white in color and consumers became used to the look. After the rubber was changed to black, tire companies placed a thin white rubber skin on the sidewall to keep the classic look. This car comes with more chrome than you can shake a stick at. The Cadillac now has an electric fuel pump to assist in easier starting and smooth running operation. Just flick the blue switch on the dash and you'll hear it kick on. The Series 62 sedan featured ventiplanes on both the front and rear windows. It was also the first Cadillac to enter production after World War II. Interior styling and technical features were similar to those seen on the Cadillac Series 61 but with slightly richer interior appointments. Little changed in the 1947 model year. Sales however reached a record 39,835, accounting for over 64% of all Cadillacs sold.
