For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a bad to the bone 1976 Pontiac Trans Am. The second generation of the Trans Am moved from the coke bottle body style to a more updated body style with a lower longer look. In 1977 emissions restrictions tightened which means '76 was the last of the "big cubes birds." This particular T/A is exactly that; boasting its original 455 CID V8. Backing the beast is a Turbo Hydramatic 400 automatic transmission with 2500 stall, Raybestos clutch plates and external cooler. Both engine and trans were rebuilt 24,000 miles ago. At that time the engine was bored .030, crank turned, resized rods, and crane cam added. The rebuild certainly brought more power to the original engine. Other performance goodies include billet distributor, 750 Holley carburetor, Edlebrock Performer intake, 400-6X big valve heads, and cast aluminum deep oil pan. The rear end is a 10 bolt with Posi-Traction and 3.42 gears. Other additions underneath include welded in sub frame connectors, new fuel tank, and dual exhaust with Hedman headers and H-Pipe. The classic black with gold decals on the outside, and black vinyl inside cannot be beat. This model is equipped with AM/FM/Cassette, power brakes, power steering, tilt wheel, seat belts, vinyl interior, radial tires with white lettering, and alloy wheels.
