For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a very handsome 1936 Ford Tudor. Following the success of the Model A, Ford Motor Company began experimenting with more elaborate art deco styling. In addition to improved styling, this '36 features V8 power! Though the flathead only churns out about 85 horsepower, that was more than sufficient in '36. The Tudor has a 3 speed manual transmission which is shifted on the floor. The car is finished in a coat of beautiful Washington Blue with a cream colored pin stripe and cream colored wheels. The look all comes together with the chrome "V8" hub caps and white wall tires. Another stylish touch is the rear mounted spare with body matched cover. Inside you will find tan cloth upholstery which covers front bucket seats and a rear bench with room for two more. The driver uses a cream painted steering wheel with the perfect diameter to control the car comfortably. Instrumentation is quite compete for the time period including speedometer, odometer, amp meter, water temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge and fuel level indicator. Of course a dashboard from the 1930's wouldn't be complete without a cigarette lighter and ash tray. Though the car obviously is not equipped with air conditioning, all four side windows roll down and the front glass opens from the bottom to provide very nice ventilation. This is a very attractive Ford that was nicely restored and would make any collector proud. You can see this '36 in greater detail, including HD video, at www.GatewayClassicCars.com.
