For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a beautifully restored 1978 Pontiac Trans Am. Perhaps it's because of Smokey and the Bandit, or perhaps the shape simply leaves an impression on all who see it; either way the 1978 Trans Am is one of the iconic muscle cars of the 70s. Everyone has seen the Phoenix graphics on the hoods of these cars, but this example has a much more subtle and sophisticated look. This T/A is not black, but a beautiful shade of Midnight Blue which really comes alive in the sunlight, or moonlight. Under to hood is the original 400 CID V8, yes, 6.6 liters. This 400 has been rebuilt and bored .030 over, has forged pistons, crane cam, performer intake, and 750 CFM Holley carburetor. The matching 350 Turbo Hydramatic automatic transmission has B&M Transpack and 2,500 stall speed converter. Of course, you get the classic muscle car sound through a set of Flowtech headers and Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers. Other recent work includes new power steering pump, hoses and gearbox, new brake calipers, new wheel cylinders, new chrome alternator, and new chrome valve covers. This Pontiac comes standard with AM/FM radio, power brakes, power steering, seat belts, vinyl interior, raised white letter radial tires, and alloy wheels. You can view this Trans Am in greater detail, including HD video, at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Please call 618-271-3000 with any questions.
