This rare automatic transmission Corvair has been garaged and enjoyed since its restoration in 2000 and will not disappoint you. The white exterior was repainted in 2000 and still looks fantastic. The light blue vinyl interior is believed to be original and takes you back to 1964 in a flash. With just 69,770 original miles, this beauty sports the orignial inline-six rear engine with an auto power guide transmission; the automatic transmission is a rarity to find . The Corvair sits on traditional white wall tires. If you get caught out in the rain, or on the verge of getting sunburned, the black convertible top is functional and is in showroom quality. The AM radio dials in the oldies of yester year heard via the dash speaker. The Corvair's production ran from 1960-1969. Winning Motor Trend's Car of the Year in 1960. The Corvair did not receive any updates until 1964 when the engine displacement was increased from 145 to 164 cu. in. (2.4 to 2.7 L.) and the horsepower rating was increased from 95hp to 110hp, a few handling improvement cues were also added in 1964. The options include: AM radio, padded dash, convertible manual top, hub caps, seat belts, vinyl interior, white wall radial tires. Talk about paperwork, this Corvair comes with : the original car invoice, purchase contract, application of title/license, loan paperwork, copies of original title, Missouri state inspection forms, and a new battery receipt from 1972!
