1960 Peugot 403

Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a very fun little 1960 Peugeot 403 sedan. At the time, the 403 became the highest selling model for Peugeot with over 1 million produced. The 403 was available in several different style including 4 door sedan, familiale (wagon), convertible, and pickup. The 403 was an upgrade from the previous 203 and featured a 1.5 liter 4 cylinder engine. The I4 employed pushrod actuated vales, a cross-flow cylinder head, and... it's a hemi! The hemispherical head makes this little ride able to boast 'it's got a hemi'. The engine is rated at 65 horsepower at 5,000 rpms. She fires right up at a touch of the starter button and makes a nice little sound. This '60 has a glossy coat of cream paint that certainly looks the part of a '60s economy car. The real kicker on this little ride is the interior. From the plaid seats, to the ash trays, to the 4 on the tree shifter, this little number screams 1960s. Possibly one of the most unique features of this car are the fully reclinable front seats. The front seatbacks fold flat and line up flush with the rear seats making a makeshift bed. This could be used for camping during long road trips by simply pulling off the highway and finding a cozy spot. This French runabout is simply loaded with character. This is a great ride for cruising around town, taking to shows, or just driving to work each day.
