This series and all Superior models used the same 171 cubic inch 4 cylinder engine producing 26 horsepower at 2,000 rpm. Chevrolet produced over 500 thousand vehicles in 1925 and sure had some tough competition with Ford's Model T. Ford had sold over 1.9 million cars that year. Ford was selling their car for a modest $260 compared to the Chevy's $800 price tag. However, Chevy seemed to be ahead of the game with their driver-friendly 3-speed manual transmission compared to Ford's very complicated high and low range system. Chevy also decided to utilize a roll up windshield for fresh air vs. Ford's crank out unit. The fight for the market had certainly begun and still continues today.
This 1925 Chevrolet has been very well cared for over the years. Recent work includes a cleaned out radiator, rebuilt carburetor, an electric fuel pump, new spark plugs and recent oil change.
