1963 Pontiac Tempest

For sale is a very nicely restored, fun convertible; a 1963 Pontiac Tempest Lemans. This car was way before its time, offering independent suspension, near 50/50 weight distribution, and a strong running V8 backed by an automatic transmission. Performance was strong enough that Car Life magazine stated; "No one will wonder why they didn't use the 389," and fuel economy with the 326 ranged up to 19 mpg. The V8 option proved popular: 52% of the 131,490 Tempests and Le Mans sold in 1963 were ordered with the 326. The high-compression 326's output was 260 hp and 352 lb ft of torque. 1963 was the last year for the first generation Tempest, and by then, all of the bugs were worked out while styling points peaked. The exterior is coated in a high gloss maroon while the interior offers period correct tri-tone vinyl. This little convertible is sure to turn heads with its wonderful style. The convertible top is white in color and looks great up. Other options include: AM/FM radio, manual convertible top, hubs caps, power brakes, power steering, seat belts, vinyl interior, and white wall radial tires.
