The name Fairlane comes from Henry Ford's estate, Fair Lane, near Dearborn, Michigan. Sold between 1955 and 1970, the Fairlane was born as a full-size vehicle, but design changes for the 1962 model year transformed it into a mid-size car. For 1966 the Fairlane debuted a completely redesigned look, with stacked headlamps, the 2-Door Fairlane 500 XL models were made available, and the Fairlane convertible also made its debut in 1966. The XL trim level could be ordered with a Ford six cylinder, or small or big block V8.

Looking at the front of this Fairlane and the first thing you notice are the stacked head lights and the chrome grille. Move to the side of the 500 XL convertible and you see the body line running the length of the body, and the super cool wire hub caps. Walk around back and you are greeted with the big chrome bumper and dual chrome exhaust tips. Take a closer look at the interior and you see the textured red vinyl and perfectly accented white inserts. The steering wheel and dash cluster take you back to the 1960's in a flash.
