1946 Chevrolet Pickup

For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a classic resto-mod 1946 Chevrolet Pickup. The wider radial tires are the only exterior hint that this truck is not finished to factory specs. Lift the hood however and you will find a far from factory engine. Sitting in engine bay is a Chevrolet 350 CID V8, gone is the 3 speed manual and in its place is an easy to drive 3 speed automatic. This 1946 Chevrolet Pickup was known as the AK Series, which was produced from 1941 to 1947, and used the GM A platform, shared with the Chevrolet Deluxe. The AK Series was also branded as a GMC and sold at GMC dealerships. There was a slight change to differentiate the Chevrolet and the GMC branded trucks. The Chevrolet featured vertical bars in the grille and the GMC sported horizontal bars in the grille. The AK Series also started a trend for Chevrolet where the trucks and the passenger cars did not share the same appearance characteristics. Originally optioned with either a 216 CID 3.5L inline 6 or a 228 CID 3.7L inline 6. Options for this 1946 Chevrolet Pickup include: Air Conditioning, Hub Caps, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Vinyl Interior, and Radial Tires. Do not let the factory appearance fool you, yes it looks great, but it also sounds and drives just as good. Crawl underneath and you see the upgraded steering and suspension, look over the bed rails and you will notice the classic finished wood slats, take a peek into the interior and you see a factory interior.
