Vinyl InteriorFor sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1970 Volkswagen Beetle. This isn't your typical Bug. This '70 Beetle is sporting a water cooled 2.0 inline 4 cylinder. The horsepower is unknown, but this little Beet will really scoot. With twin carburetors and a free flowing exhaust, she'll really scream. The radiator is mounted up front, with vents in the "hood" to allow for air flow as well as electric fans. The V-Dub is finished in a beautiful coat of orange paint which is slick and glossy. It is a very sharp color for a vehicle from 1970. Another nice period style addition is the MiniLite style wheels. These racing wheels are polished and are wrapped in a new set of radial tires. Look through the spokes and you'll see disc brakes in all four corners. Obviously this one has been tastefully upgraded despite looking mostly stock from the outside. You will notice the rear bonnet lid sits a little differently than it would've to allow room for the straight four. Also, the exhaust exits in the center through a pronounced trumpet muffler. Inside you'll find the standard black vinyl interior. There have been a few gauges added such as tachometer and obviously water temperature. The interior looks just as clean as the outside and certainly will make a new owner proud. This car would be at home at a car show, carving the back roads, or even at the drag strip.
