For sale at Gateway Classic Cars is a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door hardtop. This is '55 is painted in a classic teal with matching vinyl interior. It sure has received some serious upgrades. The most notable lies in the engine bay. A small block Chevy V8 that has been carefully bored and stroker to achieve 396 cubic inches. Sitting on top of the engine is a Weiand blower adding some serious horsepower to the already very healthy small block. The engine consist of Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads, polished Weiand intake and blower, 900 cfm Holley double pumper all working together to make 611 horsepower and 606 lbs/ft of torque! Looking past this beautiful power plant is a smoothed firewall, polished aluminum radiator and A/C condenser giving the engine bay a very clean and uncluttered appearance. Backing up the power is a Turbo 400 automatic transmission, an aluminum driveshaft and back to a Detroit locker rear end. Supporting the car and helping it stayed glued to the road is a 4 link rear suspension and tubular upper and lower Heidt's control arms and rack and pinion steering for the front. Underneath the car is as impressive as the rest. A stainless steel gas tank, stainless steel 3" exhaust and sheet metal painted to match the car. Slowing things down is a breeze with 4 wheel disc brakes and Wilwood calipers and grippy Goodyears. The Goodyear tires are Eagle GTs up front measuring 215/55/17 and Eagle F1s in back measuring 285/40/17 both wrapped around American Racing polished aluminum Torque Thrust wheels. Creature comforts were not forgot about with this build. Inside you'll find power windows, Vintage Heat and Air, 10 disc CD changer, Lokar shifter, Chrome tilt column and an Auto Meter tachometer.
