Triumph Spitfires, Fiat Spiders, and MGBs were cheap fun cars that could be used as daily drivers as well as fun weekend toys. As safety restraints changed into the 1980s, the segment seemed to disappear. In the mid 1990s BMW filled the gap in the market and unveiled the Z3. The car was an instance success because of its simple platform. Front engine, rear drive, and an available manual transmission in the middle: a true driver's car. The early Z3s came with 4 cylinders, but this 1999 model comes with a 2.5 liter inline 6 cylinder engine which produces 170 Horsepower. Power is delivered through a 5 speed manual transmission which is a blast to row through the gears. This particular example has only 69,485 miles and drives wonderfully. The car is finished in a dark gray exterior color with a black fabric convertible top. It sits on a set of 5 spoke alloy wheels wrapped in radial tires. The car has all the safety and reliability of a modern BMW, but the look and feel of a drop top sports car.
