For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a muscular 1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt Tribute. Thunderbolts were special edition factory built big block race cars built in 1964 featuring a 427 CID V8 that produced 425 horsepower, lightweight fiberglass hood, and no frills optioning. Ford produced an even 100 Thunderbolts, 49 were manual transmissions and 51 were automatic transmissions, just enough for Ford to qualify for the 1964 NHRA Super Stock title. These Fairlanes were built in the Dearborn, MI plant as Fairlane 500 2 door sedans. All the sound deadener, sealer, and insulation were not installed, also these cars had no radio, heater, or rear window cranking mechanisms. This car has been styled to resemble a Thunderbolt, with the signature tear drop fiberglass hood, and white paint. This Fairlane is equipped with a 427 CID V8 and a 4-speed manual transmission. The odometer reads 1,082 but the actual miles are unknown. Options for this 1964 Ford Fairlane Thunderbolt Tribute include: AM Radio (inoperable), Power Steering, Vinyl Interior, Torque Thrust Style Aluminum/Alloy Wheels, and Radial tires.
