In 1969 Gm introduced an appearance and performance package for the Firebird called the Trans Am . During the first run of the Trans Am package only 689 hard tops and 8 convertibles were produced. In 1999 to celebrate the 30th year of the Trans Am package, Pontiac produced the 30th Anniversary Trans Am. This special run of Firebird came with white exterior with blue graphics pack, white leather interior, and blue tinted wheels that hearken back to the original Trans Am design. Just as rare as the original Trans Am, 1600 30th anniversary editions were produced. Pontiac didn’t just stop at the looks department with this one, the 30th Anniversary is equipped with GM’s venerable LS1 power plant getting its air through the aggressive WS6 Ramair hood. Putting power to the ground is a 4 speed automatic with selectable traction control which makes this wild ride a pure pleasure to drive and manageable at the flick of a switch.
