The Chevrolet El Camino was a coupe/utility/pickup that was first produced in 1959 and 1960. After a 4 year hiatus it came back in 1964, and was produced until 1987. Initially it was introduced to compete with the popular Ford Ranchero pickup. From 1964 to 1977 the El Camino was built on the Chevelle platform, and from 1978 to 1987 it was based on the GM G-Body platform. Although the El Camino was built on a car platform, it was classified in North America as a truck. From 1984 to 1987 Chevrolet offered the El Camino SS with a Choo Choo conversion, which included an aerodynamic front end similar to the Monte Carlo SS. This 1986 Choo Choo El Camino looks fantastic, especially considering it sports the original paint, which has only seen a touch up over the years. The light grey metallic paint still shines like new. The pin stripes and El Camino SS decals also look terrific with little to no signs of aging. The grey cloth interior is in great condition, with no rips, tears, or stains. The original 305 CID V8 engine looks and sounds like new as well. It fires right up, and purrs very nicely.
