For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1932 Ford 5-Window Coupe. This yellow hot rod is built using a high quality Russ Nomore Glass Body with steel hood and attachments. The body was fit and refit to insure excellent fit and finish. The TCI Hi Performance rolling chassis was powder coated to match the beautiful body and is without question strong enough for the power train.
The power train is a GM 402 big block that has been bored .030 to a displacement of 408 cubic inches. Compression is a pump gas friendly 10.5:1, the camshaft is a Comp Cams 270 H giving this engine the right amount of usable power with the perfect amount of rumble. Supplying the fuel is a 750 cfm Street Demon, Edelbrock Hi Performance fuel pump and Holley Hi Tek Twin side draft air cleaner. The cylinder heads are 113 cc combustion chamber oval port street heads. Letting this big block breath are Sanderson Hi Temp ceramic silver coated Twister Headers with mufflers. Oh what a sound! Keeping the Rat motor cool is Hi Performance aluminum radiator. Bringing this big block to life is a Powermaster Hi Torque mini chrome starter and maintaining the charge is a WPS 110 amp chrome alternator. Backed up this power plant is a stout TH-400 automatic transmission built with a B&M shift kit and to the same specs as a W30 Oldsmobile. Out back is a Ford 9" with 3.89 posi-traction.
The suspension certainly wasn't missed. The front is an independent unit with upper and lower tubular control arms, adjustable TCI high performance coil overs, rack and pinion steering with Borgeson polished stainless steel U-joints and shafts. The rear is a triangulated 4 bar with panhard bar. Slowing things down is done with Wilwood disc up front and large drums in the rear.
Inside is a beautiful Pine comb leather bench seat and upholstery with matching seat belts and Sandstone carpeting, a Flaming River chrome tilt steering column with a Banjo steering wheel and VDO Cockpit Royale Series gauges. Other notable interior bits include a Vintage 40 Ford emergency brake, billet door handles, Vintage heat and air with defrost, Hagan Fatties Super View rectangle rear view mirror and a Sony AM/FM stereo with CD player mounted on a overhead center console along with two inch tach and vacuum gauges.
