Vinyl InteriorGateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a very mean 1968 Chevrolet Camaro. This car has been through a complete ground up build to turn it into the machine you see today. The foundation received all new body panels to make for a straight and true body. The sub frames have been extended and welded for structural rigidity. The body has been finished in a beautiful gray metallic which shows off the bodylines. To really set off the look, the hood has been painted Matte Titanium for some contrast. A custom grill with hideaway headlights compliments the custom front air dam for an updated look. The Camaro sits on a beautiful set of "Salt Flat Special" American Racing wheels with a vintage look in a more modern size. These wheels hide disk brakes which provide the stopping power for this machine. Under the hood you'll find a 472 CID Big Block with a belt driven supercharger sitting on top. Backing the big block is a stout TurboHydramatic 400 automatic transmission running to a 12 bolt rear end with 4.11 final drive ratio. With this set up, the car is very street able, but can be an absolute monster if you're brave enough to mash the gas. The interior stays mostly stock with black vinyl buckets. With the exception of the boost gauge, you wouldn't know the car has been modified from sitting inside. Of course, fire it up, and you know right away about the monster that lives beneath the hood.
