1962 Ford Thunderbird

For sale in our St. Louis showroom is a gorgeous 1962 Ford Thunderbird. The odometer reads 12,790, but the actual mileage is unknown. Options for this 1962 Ford Thunderbird include AM/FM Radio with Cassette and Six-Disc Changer, Power Brakes, Power Steering, swing away Wheel, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Radial Tires, Aluminum/Alloy Wheels. This Thunderbird has undergone an extensive and ongoing restoration, and comes with binders full of information, including invoices, a detailed description of everything done to the car, car cover, and even judging scores dating back to 1998. Powering this 62' T-Bird is the original 390 CID V8 engine that has been retrofitted with the rare Tri-Power intake and three 2-BBL Holley carburetors. This V8 engine has been completely rebuilt, balanced, blue printed, and has also been fitted with a Comp cam and Summit Racing pistons. A rebuilt C-6 3 speed automatic transmission replaced the original automatic transmission and shifts the power to the Ford 9" rear end flawlessly. The front and rear suspension have been lowered, are equipped with heavy duty sway bars, and feature QA-1 adjustable shocks in the rear. GM 11" power disc brakes have been added up front and feature a dual master cylinder and a proportioning valve. An excellent stance is provided by the low profile Michelin Pilot Sport radial tires that are mounted to the 17" polished, aluminum/alloy American Racing Torque Thrust II wheels. The body and paint on this Thunderbird are fabulous. After each show season this Thunderbird was went into the lab to repair any and all road rash issues. The Silver Mink Metallic paint looks fantastic and will not disappoint at any show level you choose to display it. The icing on the cake has to be the 1959 Cadillac taillight bullets that have been added, and set this Thunderbird apart from the rest of the pack. This 62' Thunderbird is a multi award winner, most notibly: Good Guys Picks at both Chicago and Nashville shows, Best T-Bird at the Route 66 Mother Road Festival, and two time Best Ford Street Machine at the Fall Street Machine Nationals. In addition, in 2010 at the Internation Thunderbird Convention it took 1st place in the Touring Modified class.
