Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to offer a zippy little 1971 MGB Mrk II Roadster. MG's have long been an excellent choice for the sports car enthusiast that loves a British classic. This MGB is the sought after chrome bumper style with attractive chrome bumpers both front and rear. This car has been completely restored about 6 years ago. The body was stripped to bare metal before being treated in bright red paint. The engine has been rebuilt and only accumulated 1,600 miles since. Power comes from the 1,800cc inline 4 cylinder which has a new carburetor and breathes through Monza exhaust. The car makes a great exhaust note, which makes rowing through the gears and winding out each shift a very visceral experience. Throw the top down to enhance the experience with some wind in your hair. Inside the car is a set of bucket seats for you and your passenger. Equipment is sparse, but you do get a modern stereo, center console, an ash tray, and leather wrapped wheel and shift knob. The seating position is very comfortable and the dash provides full instrumentation. All around the car is very sporty and tempts the driver to push the limits a bit. MGBs have been used in racing for years, and there are racing classes dedicated to them. This example is a nice little race car for the road which would be right at home carving the twistys. You can see this beautiful 1971 MBG in greater detail in our St. Louis showroom, or at www.GatewayClassicCars.com. Please contact 618-271-3000 or with any questions.
