For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air RestoMod. This is a very detailed and well thought out build that will please the most scrutinous of car collectors. Starting with the Viper Red over Ivory two tone paint and riding on a beautiful set of Budnik Flare aluminum wheels measuring 17x10 in the back and 17x9 in the front and are wrapped in 17" Nitto rubber. The hood has been decked, the trunk lid smoothed, Nomad bumpers, all new glass, polished stainless trim and the underside has been undercoated and color matched to prevent chips and look great for a long time. The lowered stance that's just right is compliments of a C4 Corvette independent rear suspension that offers so much more than just a good ride height. This has an amazing ride that is miles ahead of the old straight axle you see so many still using. The front consist of aluminum upper and lower control arms with rack and pinion steering. The power comes from a new GM L92 with an LS3 intake, Mast Motor Sports HO camshaft with injectors from a C6 Z06 Corvette. The engine is also equipped with a set of tuned tubular headers and make a wonderful exhaust note. Loud when you want it to be and quiet when you're just scooting around town. The transmission is a 4L85E with a CompuShift TCM 1800 stall converter. The independent rear has 3.73 gears that work great with the overdrive automatic transmission. The brakes are Power 4-Wheel disc and are slotted and drilled. The new wiring harness is by American Auto Wire. Vintage Air keeps you cool and the Classic Instruments Bel Air gauges keep you well informed. The beautiful interior goes well with the build. Inside you'll find snake skin themed Ivory interior panels and seat inserts, red seat belts that go well with the red exterior and red carpet, a smaller diameter original style steering wheel, custom center console with a Lokar shifter and of course those beautiful gauges and the hard to miss stainless steel headliner bars. The build is obviously a full frame off nut and bolt restoration and has only covered 361 miles since its completion.
