In the early 2000s retro design was popular with models like the PT Cruiser, Mini Cooper, and even the 05 Mustang. The SSR captured the overall shape of a 1950s Chevrolet truck, but crammed it full of high tech modern goodies. Top of the line drive train, interior equipment, and electronics brought the shape into the 21 Century. Perhaps the pièce de résistance
in the case of the SSR is the folding metal hard top that turns this pickup into a roadster. Stock as well is a metal bed cover and a finished bed interior. No, this isn't a work truck, but more of a modern hot rod. A huge upgrade came in 2005 when they started using the LS2 as the standard engine. This 6.0 Liter V8 pushed 390 horsepower which is more than enough to get you in trouble. This particular example is an incredibly clean 1 owner vehicle which has tallied just over 16,000 miles since new. This cream puff has always been garaged and driven as a secondary vehicle.
