For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a performance built 1996 Chevrolet Camaro Z28. This Z28 has certainly had some go-fast goodies thrown at it. To start it has been stroked to 383 cubic inches. It has also been fitted with: Trick Flow 195 cylinder heads that have been ported and are flowing over 300cfm, Eagle forged pistons, crankshaft and rods, a custom grind camshaft with .590 lift and 236/242 duration, ported intake manifold, Kooks long tube stepped headers onto a 3-inch exhaust with an X pipe, MagnaFlow mufflers and electronic cutouts. This package is dyno proven to make 408 rear wheel horsepower and 400lbs./ft. of torque! To handle this power, the T-56 6-speed transmission has been upgraded by Tick Performance to stage 2 specs and features a stage 2 clutch and lightweight flywheel. Behind the beefy transmission is a Dana rear end housing 4.11 gears and is fitted with Truetrac Limited Slip Differential. We know that the entire drivetrain has been addressed however it’s of no use if you can't put the power to the ground. The suspension is equipped with adjustable Koni struts up front and Bilsteins out back, Eibach Pro Springs, Adco sway bars, BMR pan hard bar, Adco adjustable torque arm, polyurethane bushings and SLP double diamond SFC's. So far, we know this Camaro makes great power and can out the power to the ground and you guessed it, it stops well too. C5 Corvette Z06 brakes with drilled and slotted rotors with Hawk brake pads. The powertrain has roughly 5,000 miles since its completion while the odometer is showing 145,768 miles. The build wasn't complete without the cosmetic updates; powder coated replica C5 Z06 wheels, an aftermarket SS hood with custom cold air intake, rear wing and a beautiful Lamborghini orange base coat/clear coat. Inside is a mostly stock Z28 interior with functioning A/C, Power windows, Power locks, Power ABS brakes, T/Tops and a CD player. Everything is covered with this build and now awaits a new owner that is ready for some serious fun.
