By 2002 the Lightning was becoming a serious performance vehicle and not one to be taken lightly. Power comes from a supercharged 5.4 liter SOHC V8 producing 380 horsepower and an incredible 450 lbs./ft. of torque! All this lovely power is sent through an automatic with overdrive and back to a limited slip rear end. The magicians over at SVT (Ford's Special Vehicle Team) didn't stop with the power train. The F-150 is also equipped with 4 wheel disc brakes and 4 wheel ABS. The suspension has also been finely tuned with a lower ride height and stiffer springs, Bilstein shocks and oversized sway bars front and rear. Sticky rubber was added to the Lightning's 18 inch aluminum wheels in an attempt to put the power to the ground rather than smoking them into smithereens (still an option if you choose). Equipment is plentiful and includes Power windows, Power locks, Key fob, CD player and Power leather seats.
This beauty is painted in True Blue Clearcoat and looks fantastic! The interior is a two tone gray and charcoal. Mileage is showing 71,155 but sure doesn't show it. When new, the Lighting stickered for over $30,000 and would go over 140 mph. This is a very serious truck and the aftermarket parts industry offers many upgrades if you want to continue with what SVT started.
