1955 Chevrolet Pickup

For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is an early series 1 1955 Chevrolet Pick Up. This one has received an extremely detailed restoration and is probably better than new. It also benefits from an upgraded 12 volt system that also includes a 12 volt starter and electric windshield wiper replacing the old and unreliable vacuum operated wiper. Painted green with black running boards, wide white walls, driver’s side side mounted spare and an Oak bed paired with a beautiful Parchment interior. The interior is just as easy on the yes as is the rest of the truck. The gauges were restored and look new, the two tone bench seat looks great as do all of the knobs and cranks. You'll also notice seat belts and a heat controller for those chilly Autumn drives. During the restoration, all of the rubber seals and window fuzzies were replaced including the often overlooked vent window seals. Helping protect the exterior are clear rubber covers for the tailgate's chains and a rubber mat to protect the beautiful Oak bed with stainless inserts. Open the hood and the detail continues. All new wiring and proper detail. You can tell that the restorer took their time and focused on detail and accuracy. The Thrift Master 235 Inline 6 purrs like a kitten and the 3 speed column shift is easy to operate. Both are original to the truck, have been rebuilt during the restoration and have covered 336 miles since the rebuild. The undercarriage will not disappoint as it is also as detailed as the rest of this impressive 3100. The Series One represent the early 1955s that share the previous body style found on earlier Chevy Pick Ups. Mid year 1955 (Series 2) received the updated front end among other changes. The Series 1 seem to be the most sought after model considering they are the end of a long run of a successful generation of truck.
