The first-generation Camaro debuted in September 1966, for the 1967 model year, up to 1969 on a new rear-wheel drive GM F-body platform and was available as a two-door coupé or convertible with 2+2 seating, and a choice of six different engines. The motive behind the new Chevy make was to replace the Corvair and to compete more successfully with the Ford Mustang. The popularity and demand for the first-generation Camaro re-emerged after Chevy borrowed heavily from it in their fifth-generation redesign.
This particular first-generation 1968 Chevy Camaro is the Rally Sport edition that sports the distinctive hood stripes that first appeared in 1967. Powering this classic body is a rebuilt 327 CID V8, a Turbo 350 transmissoin, 10 bolt psi rear differential. The engine has less than 1,000 miles on it since the rebuild. Other options include a RS Package, Power Steering, Front Power Disc Brake conversion, Houndstooth interior, Factory Console with Horseshoe Shifter. AM/FM Stereo Radio with 6X9 Speakers, Brand new P215/70R15 (front) and P245/60R15 (rear) Cooper Cobra GT Tires with new American Racing Torque Thrust Wheels, New Alternator and a beautiful base/clear paint.
