For sale at Gateway Classic Cars is a 1973 Triumph Stag. The Triumph Stag was a 2+2 sports car fitted with a small over head cam V8 displacing 3.0 liters. A lot of these are equipped with automatic transmissions, this one is backed up a smooth shifting 4 speed manual transmission. From 1970 to 1977, roughly 25,000 were produced with a very small amount (2,871) making their way to the U.S. market. As odd as it may sound, the U.S. market cars lost the fuel injection in favor of twin Stromberg carburetors to meet U.S. emissions standards. This blue beauty is a 1973 and has been with the same owner for the last 20 years. Recently the carburetors have been rebuilt. Other than that, just well maintained and enjoyed. The Sapphire Blue paint looks great and is nicely complimented by a black soft top and black interior. The soft tops on these Stags are pretty unique. There is a hoop style roll bar for safety and a "T" bar that attaches it to the windshield. Equipment includes Power windows, Power brakes, Power steering and Air conditioning (currently not operable). The odometer is showing 78,529 and is believed to be original to the car.
