We are very excited to offer for purchase this 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu, which is a very professional complete frame-off restoration. The next owner of this beauty will be very proud to have it parked in their garage and will get a huge thrill out of driving it. This is a Malibu, not an SS. Numbers do not match. It was restored with a big block engine.

BACKGROUND: The Chevrolet Malibu is a mid-size car manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet from 1964 to 1983 and since 1997. The Malibu began as a trim-level of the Chevrolet Chevelle, becoming its own model line in 1978. Originally a rear-wheel-drive intermediate, GM revived the Malibu nameplate as a front-wheel-drive car in 1997. Named after coastal community of Malibu, California, the Malibu was marketed primarily in North America, with the eighth generation introduced globally. The first Malibu was a top-line subseries of the mid-sized Chevrolet Chevelle from 1964 to 1972. The Malibu SS was replaced in 1966 by a new Chevelle SS-396 series that included a big-block 396 cu in (6.5 L) V8 engine, heavy duty suspension and other performance equipment.

This particular 1966 Chevrolet Malibu is very remisicent of the 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS-396. This one does have the 396 powerplant (bored .060) with new front and rear suspension. The rear suspension has new boxed lower control arms and rear swar bar, with added links that connects the upper and lower together. Upon request, we have a complete list of restoration work and improvements. All receipts of work done on car will go along with purchase.
