The body has been completely restored, stripped, straightened, and re-painted in sunny orange. The pop-top, bumpers, and wheels are finished in white to really set off the orange. If simply seeing this vehicle doesn’t put a smile on your face, sliding open the side door will. What you’ll find is a nice little home away from home. Seating, a table for dining, a bed for sleeping, heck, even a TV so you can catch the latest episode of the Brady Bunch. The décor is perfect, with plenty of Grateful Dead stickers, vintage motorcycle and motocross memorabilia, and a killer 8-Track collection. These VW vans are not known for their speed, but thankfully this one has been tastefully upgraded in the power department. The engine is a 2,365cc Flat Four with a forged crank, 88mm Big Bore, Mahle rods, and a Weber down draft carburetor. This power plant makes for a capable cruiser that is comfortable on the highway. Another unique feature to this V-Dub is the 3-speed automatic transmission. This is a nice alternative to the typical VW 4 speed for those that don’t want to bother with shifting their own gears. Whether you want to go camping on the weekends, drive around the country, or follow your favorite band’s tour, this 1973 Westfalia is ready for its next adventure.
