For sale at Gateway Classic Cars in our St. Louis showroom is a very special 2018 Chevrolet Camaro with zero miles put on it. This is the COPO Camaro specifically built for drag racing. A factory built race car available for purchase! Only 69 of these are built every year in recognition of the first COPO Camaros from 1969. Of the 69 built for 2018, only 4 are painted in Yellow. This one is #51 of the 69 built, is a one owner and has yet to make a pass down the drag strip. You can be the first to pilot this instant classic down the track.

Power is estimated at 1,000 - 1,200 horsepower! The engine is a high compression LSX 350 with a Whipple Super Charger forcing gobs of fresh air into this fire breathing Camaro. The performance division over at Chevrolet deserves an award. The execution of this build is spot on. Weight reduction was incorporated in every possible area and is down to an estimated 3,200 pounds. It comes stock with a set of Hoosier racing slicks, Strange axles and brake calipers, Trans brake, Wheelie bars and a parachute. The chassis is NHRA certified and needs to be, as this thing is quick! The NHRA chassis certification is good for 8.50 seconds or slower. These COPO Camaros are capable mid 8 seconds at 160 MPH! Yes, the wheelie bars are necessary. All four corners are using Strange adjustable coil over shocks and Strange four-wheel disc brakes with slotted rotors. Wheels are Bogart polished aluminum and are wrapped in Hoosier drag tires. The front runners are 28.0x4.5 and 9.0x30 R15s for the rears. The rears are Hoosier's lightweight radial series.

Inside will look a little familiar if you've ridden in a street version if the Camaro. There is still carpeting and a dashboard with an array of gauges, no speedo though, only the important vitals of this heavy hitter engine. In the center where the radio would normally be are all of the necessary switches for controlling Ignition, Fuel Pump, Water pump for the intercooler, Headlights and an Auxiliary cooling fan. Amazingly it still has power windows and full door panels. There's even a factory original steering wheel, although there is no power steering. However, you don't need power steering in a drag car. The front tires are quite narrow and let's face it, you're not going to be parallel parking this bad boy.

This is a rare opportunity to own a true factory built race car. It is being sold on a bill of sale. Chevrolet does not issue a title for the COPO Camaros of today. Be the first one to take this mad Camaro down the strip. Call our St. Louis showroom at 618-271-3000 or stop by for a personal viewing.
