1948 Ford F1

Thank you for taking a look at this 1948 Ford F-1 we have in our Saint Louis Gateway Classic Cars showroom. This was a barn-find that was restored from the ground up, and what a very nice restoration that was done to it. If you are looking for a ready to drive classic truck with entry-level pricing, you've found one here that's worth your consideration. BACKGROUND: The first-generation Ford F-Series is a series of pickup trucks and commercial vehicles produced by Ford. Introduced in late 1947, the F-Series was the first post-war truck design from Ford. The first generation of the F-Series would remain in production until 1952. Model designations for trucks were badged as F-1s. The 1948 model, features a wider, longer, and taller cabs. Originally, the 1948 would have been powered by a 225, 239, 254, or 337; all of which couldn't get over 145 HP. (Source: Wikipedia)

This restored 1948 Ford F-1 is being powered by a Ford Boss 302 is a high-performance "small block". The transmission is a Ford C4 is a three-speed, medium-duty automatic transmission. Other interesting features include a fear timing set, roller rockers, electric fuel pump, 4-wheel disk brakes, a 1974 Jaguar independent rear end, and a kill-switch underneath the dash. This truck is the real deal and as you can see in the video, this girl starts, accelerates, and drives just as you would expect. There are no unfortunate surprises here.

The body and interior has a nice satin gray finish that doesn't show any noticeable scratches, dents, or unsightly imperfections. Underneath the bed cover, you'll find unfinished wood slats and a trunk gate that opens and closes tight. The cabin feels like home with soft cushion seats (cloth/vinyl), and it has has a taste of modern with seat belts, and an AM/FM radio w/ compact disc player.
