By 1970 the Chevelle had made its mark on the American people by being named the best-selling mid-size car in America. Though most were powered by a lesser V8, or even an inline 6, the SS nameplate bumped this vehicle up to a much more potent V8, but not as mean as this powerhouse. Some people crave more power and want to take things to another level entirely. The factory motor was replaced with a 468 cubic inch big block which sounds amazing once you fire her up. The motor is backed by a Turbo 400 3-speed automatic transmission that shifts smooth and puts the power down to the ground. Although being fast is certainly important to some people, looking good while doing it matters to the rest. This car has had a complete frame off restoration and every inch has been sand blasted and repainted. This car has been painted Orange with a pearl in it and black racing stripes down the hood and trunk paying homage to the original styling of the Chevelle SS. The interior is black with vinyl seats and the center console with the shifter on the floor. A set of Autometer gauges have been installed under the dash to keep tabs on the engine condition. A set of sticky Mickey-Thompson Sportsman S/R tires wrapped around 15-inch Billet Specialties Street Lite rims get the power to the pavement with style.
