Gateway Classic Cars of St Louis is proud to have for sale this Pro Street 1972 Volkswagen Bug. Trying to find a starting point on this car is tough. Just about everything has been modified and has a custom touch. The build sheet alone is about as thick as a Stephen King book. Lets start with what we can see, the custom matte finish electron blue pearl paint is a fantastic choice for this style of bug. Pair it with a big ol' wing and it really sets off the pro street look. The entire front end is a removable one piece nose cone that is mounted with a Ron Lewis quick release. Just about the entire rear end is removable as well allowing easy access to the engine bay. Inner quarter panels, deck, and apron are all removeable. Powering this beast is a freshly built (5 miles on engine) 1914cc VW engine and trust us when we say, none of the internals were left untouched. Crank, rods, bearings, pistons, valves, cams, etc.... all custom name brand. All of this is sitting on a perfectly prepared chassis. 3 way adjustable shocks sit up front while the rear has KYB gas shocks, 28mm torsion bars, and adjustable spring plates. Dual piston calipers in the front and rear are accompanied by drilled rotors. Moving inside you might expect to see a fairly bare bones interior like most pro street bugs, but not on this one. It is decked out with everything you could want. There is a 4 point roll bar but it does not hinder comfort and the touch screen radio and sound system in this car is loud enough to wake up the neighbors.
