1955 Chevrolet Bel Air

Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to present this 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air! One would not guess it has been a little over a decade since this beautiful 55 was restored. The odometer since restoration only reads just over 12,000 miles with roughly 8,000 on the engine/transmission!

In 2009 the labor of love began and if the job was to be done, it was decided to be done right! The 55 had lived a hard life because almost all the body components, moldings, and glass were sourced new. A built sheet is available upon request for a more extensive list.

The wiring is a New American Classic harness with the gauges either replaced or rebuilt. The engine is a 350 4 bolt main block with a steel crank, Eagle rods, J&E forged pistons, competition hydraulic cam, roller rockers, HD push rods, high volume oil pump, aluminum heads/intake, stainless steel valves, screw in studs, MSD ignition, Griffin aluminum radiator, a Holley 680 double pump, and ceramic coated headers with 3-inch stainless steel custom exhaust! All that to say, she is built RIGHT!

The exterior color is Mitsubishi Pearl White over Lamborghini Orange. The paint was laid down professionally by Redline Finishes in Ozark, MO and the upholstery was stitched by Classic Interiors in Springfield, MO. The build might have 11 years on it, but there is very little evidence of use. With just over 12,000 miles on the odometer the vehicle has barely seen 1,000 miles per year.

By our estimations 1,000 per year is just enough to keep a good car alive and well! We are excited to have another 55 in our inventory and with the quality of the build we do not expect it to last long!
