All updated 86–89 SL models have the advantages of the more modern 4 pot brakes, larger discs, and suspension derived from the W124 sedan. The body itself is built with a modern paint system designed to improve protection from rust. The 560 SL was only sold in the United States, Canada, Japan, and Australia to compensate the reduced output of the 5.0-litres due to the stricter emission laws in these markets. In 1987 the SL was powered by a 5.6 liter V8 engine that produced 227 Hp and was paired to a 4 speed automatic transmission. This engine would accelerate 0-60 mph in 7.3 seconds with a 15.5 second quarter miles. This hard top convertible is not only stylish but a joy to drive. Barley over 100k miles on the drivetrain, this V8 engine has tons of life let in it. Options on this Mercedes include; Cruise control, power brakes and steering, anti lock brakes, leather interior, removable top, and even safety air bags.
