The Riviera, a car that evoked the allure of the famed French coastline and borrowed its sleek styling from Europe's best. 1968 marked the third year of the second-generation Riviera. Loop-type bumpers surround this Buick's recessed crosshatch grille and tail lamps while attractive wheels convey class and elegance.
When you open the doors, a beautiful re-upholstered grey interior invites you inside. This Riviera sports a factory original bucket seat option with center console and shifter. Powering this beauty is the numbers-matching 430 CID V8 engine which replaced the venerable 425 Nailhead that had powered much of Buick's luxury fleet. The 430 V8, rated at 360 horsepower and 475 lb-ft torque were a vast improvement in performance as well as gas mileage which led to record sales that year.
This Riviera is a true 'driver' with regular maintenance and updates toward drivability and comfort. Over the years, it received one reported repaint in two stage black, a new vinyl top with plush padding, a freshened front suspension, rebuilt power steering, carburetor, and drive shaft. The car also has a new water pump, timing chain and cover, with a new radiator and updated AC with a R134a conversion. It's not often you see sharp, clean examples like this one!
