The current owner has done an amazing job by keeping the original documentation, ZR-1 box that includes specialty items, both a painted top and clear top, and has kept the documented miles at 17,614 during the full 17 years of ownership. This example sports beautiful white paint with light gray leather interior that is simply shows class and turns heads. This car is turnkey, show ready, and very well maintained.
In late 1987, rumors of an all-new, high performance Corvette built upon the fourth-generation platform began circulating among the automotive press. Dubbed the “King of the Hill," the secretive supercar was said to be a world-beater, and in March of 1989, GM debuted its impressive Corvette ZR-1 at the Geneva Motor Show. Even though this GM rocket ship has been around for 30 years, the ZR-1 remains a memorable piece of Corvette history, as well as a bridge from performance Corvettes past to the present.
Chevrolet offered an RPO ZR1 option for the Corvette that included a 350-cu.in., 370-horsepower V-8 mated to a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission; heavy-duty brakes; a transistorized ignition; an aluminum radiator; and a heavy-duty suspension. Wisely, the configuration was not recommended for street driving, but those opting to exercise their Stingrays in a closed-course environment surely saw the benefits of this package. This Corvette was and will always be a dream car to many, this example is almost like buying a brand new 1990 ZR-1 but 30 years later.
