Gateway Classic Cars of Tampa is proud to digitally present this hard to find 1969 Opel 1900 GT. If you are in your fifties, chances are when you were a kid you saw Opel's everywhere. However, they seem to have vanished into thin air. The styling was so similar to the C2s or second generation Corvette, they earned the nickname, "The Poor Man's Corvette." The GT isn't a rare car, as over 30k were made in 1969, but how many of them are still on the road today and in the condition of TPA-3052? That has to be a much smaller number. According to the consignor, this Opel GT was restored by a Pierce Hot Rods of Leeds Alabama approximately eight years ago. Receipts and photos of the process are available. Before consigning, the owner had the belts replaced and a full tune up performed. The paint still maintains a rich luster but there are a few small areas of tiny paint blisters. The driver's seat has some minor damage and recently the speedometer stopped working. That said, this red GT runs great and just needs a little TLC.
