One of a kind 1948 Cadillac 62 Series convertible for sale in our Tampa Showroom. This one-off custom is unlike any other you'll ever come by. This vehicle is the exact right amount of custom, street rod, muscle car, and luxury vehicle all rolled into one complete package. This gorgeous Cadillac for sale is powered by a Cadillac 500 cubic inch V8 that puts out a heart stopping 400 horsepower, from the factory! The rebuild was completed by renowned engine builder Evanuik Performance, of Pittsburgh, PA. The vehicle has 6,874 miles since being rebuilt. The build includes being bored, with small features added, like: electronic ignition, custom built crossflow radiator with twin 16" electric fans, and Sanderson ceramic coated headers. Behind the Sanderson headers, you'll find a Borla stainless steel exhaust system. The Borla turbo mufflers give the vehicle a very smooth, yet sporty exhaust note. The engine is backed by a TH400 transmission, with a Gear Vendors overdrive kit added. With the overdrive and the 3.23 gears, the 48' Cadillac for sale cruises at a low 1900 RPM at 70 MPH and has been stated to get 20 MPG on the open road. The chassis itself is a customized 1985 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, which has: power steering, power disc brakes, and fully custom Air Ride suspension with air bags and digital controls. Though it's obvious to see through reading, that this vehicle has been built and customized, you don't really get a full grasp of it until you realize all of the subtle things that have been done to the body that really makes this car a one of a kind ride. The 1948 Cadillac convertible body has been sectioned two inches through the hood and upper portion of the doors. The body has also been channeled two inches and fits on the chassis like a glove. The floor is from a 1985 Coupe de Ville. A 52' Caddy trunk lid has been used for the rear and has been fitted to give the vehicle a longer and sleeker look. The power top is a modified power top from a 67' GTO, chopped 3 inches, with a fully fabricated top boot made of steel. A custom electric tonneau cover ,which is controlled via button, slides out of the way to reveal the tan cloth top beneath, and slide back for a nice clean look when the top is up as well. The windshield has been laid back and chopped 3 inches, with hidden electric wipers added as well. The rear fenders were customized at the rear with the end of a 52' Caddy, including tail lights. Fender skirts were fabricated from steel and the rear bumper is a modified 1955 Cadillac bumper with sectioned 1948 Cadillac guards. The exhaust tips exit through the 55' bumper and look streamline and gorgeous. The front bumper is a 48' Caddy, which has been narrowed and tucked in with original sectioned guards. All holes have been filled in and new brackets were fabricated. The vehicle has been fully debadged and has a stunning coat of Scarlet Red PPG paint. Headlights have been recessed and have flat lenses. The lights on the front have also been smoked for a nice subtle change. Grill, parking lamps, and all side molding still remain stock. Under the hood, everything has been fabricated with steel. Items fabricated under the hood include: Firewall, fender aprons, engine covers, radiator cover, and core support. Vent windows were removed and replaced with tempered and shaded door glass. The mirrors are power mirrors taken from an 04' Toyota MR2. The list goes on and on and on! The interior is subtle, yet luxurious and modern, while still maintaining that factory type feel. The rich looking tan leather matches the tan Haartz convertible top and compliments all of the custom interior components. The center console was fully fabricated by hand, using only steel, while the dash is from a 1949 Buick Roadmaster, fabricated to fit the 48' convertible body. The dash contains custom Classic Instruments gauges and Delco radio with power antenna. When turning the radio on, a custom power door open on the rear passenger fender, and exposes the power antenna. This 1948 62-series convertible has a plethora of options, which include: Air conditioning, AM/FM/CD radio, automatic convertible top, power disc brakes, power steering, power locks with door poppers, power seats, power windows, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, keyless entry, seat belts, leather interior, aluminum wheels with radial tires, air ride suspension, power antenna, and so much more. There is so much more that can be said about this vehicle, but the only way to truly grasp the concept of this vehicle is to see it in pictures or in person. It's not just a car, it's a masterpiece!
