1998 AM General Hummer

Up for sale in our Tampa showroom is one of the most powerful Hummers to ever grace the Earth, the 1998 AM General Hummer H1 8100. Built solely as a prototype from AM General, only two were made, and fully documented, a two tone red and white SUV style, and this one, a bright yellow 4-door pickup version. The history of this truck has been very well documented in a number of magazines, but actually has a full spread in the 2007 issue of HMR Magazine, giving all the details of both Hummer, as well as the joint efforts between AM General and GM during these years. This truck was built with the Vortec 8100 series engine, a massive 8.1L V8, with an astonishing 455 lb/ft of torque, this truck was fully tested at GM's "Desert Proving Grounds" in Arizona. Also brought into this build was the brand new Torq Track4 system, allowing the full capability of this powerful engine to the road. This particular truck doesn't just have an amazing history, but also comes with some famous owners, first owned by Arnold Schwarzenegger, it was the perfect truck for a man of his size and stature, the vehicle even when sitting still just makes a statement. The Hummer H1 was and always will be a military fashioned truck, and comes with the options you would expect to have during urban warfare, including built in air compressors seperately for each tire, heated windshield and rear window, 2-piece wheels, auxiliary tank and what road trip into the battlezone wouldn't be complete with a full night vision screen, with the camera outside and the screen safely inside with you, allowing you complete vision of the road ahead of you in the darkest of nights. The comfort features are pretty stout as well, with 2-zone AC system and a Monsoon sound system. One thing to keep in mind is that this is a very limited production prototype vehicle, built to honor the agreement between AM General and General Motors, and only 2 of these exist, with this being the only truck version on the planet, so this isn't just an H1 Alpha, this is the ultimate Alpha!
