Recent service includes a thorough engine overhaul and tune-up. The original 2F engine has been freshly serviced and runs strong, backed by tested compression results. Work performed includes a radiator pressure test and coolant flush, installation of a new radiator drain hose with filter, a compression test, and new OEM spark plugs. The valve cover and gaskets were replaced, and the engine oil pan was removed, cleaned, and reinstalled with a rare earth magnet, new seals, and a fresh drain bolt. A full synthetic oil change was completed using 7.5 quarts. Additional upgrades include a new battery tray with clamps, relocation of the ground cable, a new engine kill switch, and a clear inline fuel filter. Clamps and zip ties were strategically applied to organize and secure engine bay wiring.

A brake system upgrade was performed by Lexutec FW, converting the front brakes from drums to discs. The conversion included a new master brake cylinder, new clutch master cylinder, and slave cylinder, offering improved braking performance while maintaining the vehicle's vintage aesthetic. Shock tower bolts were also replaced as part of the mechanical refresh.

The interior showcases a blend of practicality and refinement. All seats, including the front and side-facing rear jump seats, have been professionally reupholstered in custom calfskin leather, offering enhanced comfort and durability. The cargo area features a custom-padded deck liner, which contributes to both sound insulation and ride comfort.

This FJ40 includes classic canvas roof details with roll-up weather flaps and signature ambulance-style rear doors, adding functionality and visual appeal. The vehicle retains power brakes, power steering, radial tires, a manual convertible top, and seatbelts. There is no air conditioning or heater installed.
