Description

Gateway Classic Cars of DFW is glad to present this 1980 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Turbo is quite an impressive car. It has everything you want, including a terrific red-on-red style and the T-tops to let you show it all off. It also features snowflake alloy wheels, a full Trans Am body kit, a loaded interior, and four-wheel disc brakes. The special turbocharged 4.9-liter V8 engine has been upgraded with a Holley Sniper EFI fuel injection system to maximize both power and consistency. Finished in sleek red paint with gold exterior accents and the iconic turbo hood bird, this Trans Am captures the essence of late 1970s and early 1980s Pontiac performance. The golden snowflake wheels paired with fresh Cooper Cobra tires complete the exterior presentation and complement the bold styling.

Inside, the red cloth interior provides a striking contrast to the exterior and delivers classic Pontiac styling throughout. The cabin features high-back bucket seats, a center console, power windows, power locks, and provisions for R134a air conditioning. The driver-oriented cockpit includes a machine-turned dash panel with full factory gauges, a tilt steering column, and a Trans Am steering wheel. The AM/FM radio provides entertainment, while the cloth upholstery offers comfort on sunny days with the T-tops removed.

Under the hood, the turbocharged 301 cubic-inch V8 is equipped with Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection, heat-wrapped turbo pipes, and a newer aluminum radiator to improve cooling and efficiency. A Bosch boost gauge and touchscreen EFI controller add a modern touch to the vintage performance layout. Power is sent through a 3-speed automatic transmission, ensuring smooth cruising. The engine bay presents cleanly with fresh block paint and well-maintained components.

Handling and braking are well-supported with power steering, front and rear sway bars, and four-wheel power disc brakes. This turbocharged Trans Am continues to showcase why these were among the nicest handling American performance cars of their time. The combination of classic styling, modern upgrades, and distinctive turbocharged performance makes this Trans Am a standout example. It offers the timeless T/A look with added drivability and reliability from the fuel injection system, delivering a blend of vintage character and modern performance.

This 1980 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Turbo is powered by its 4.9L turbocharged V8 engine backed by a 3-speed automatic transmission. It includes power steering, power brakes, power locks, power windows, air conditioning, a turbocharger, and T-tops. The car rides on aluminum snowflake wheels with new tires and features dual exhaust. A clean engine bay and a well-kept red cloth interior complement the red paint. Inside, it includes bucket seats with a console, a working clock, and an updated AM/FM radio.
