Description

Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom is proud to present this sweet 1968 Ford Mustang. This pony is rocking a bright red paint job, and a jet-black interior, so it's a real eye catcher. The potent 302 CID V8 in the engine bay has been upgraded with an Edelbrock 4BBL carb atop its aluminum intake, and a GM-Style HEI provides improved spark vs. the original ignition setup. Headers funnel exhaust gases into its true dual exhaust, which provides that classic muscle car sound. Backing the 302 is a 3-speed automatic transmission, which sends the twist to the Ford 9-inch rear. Front disc brakes have been added, which helps slow this peppy Mustang down better than its original 4-drum setup. This little 'Stang is riding on polished chrome aluminum wheels, which are wrapped with low profile performance radials, which further ride and driver control. Inside, the first thing you'll notice is the high back synthetic leather buckets with their red stitching (to complement the red exterior). Between the well-bolstered front buckets and their Aces Racing 4-point harnesses, you'll get quite the "competition feel" when you're strapped in up front. A custom center console has been added as well (after all, in 1968, no one was toting their Super Big Gulps along), but these days, "ya gotta have cupholders"! The rear bench was also recovered in matching, red-stitched black synthetic leather, to maintain a consistent scheme. Occupants will appreciate the addition of the Vintage Air A/C (uses R134a refrigerant), and they'll also get a "kick" out of the sound system, with its new retro-style head unit and its triple 10-inch subwoofer enclosure in the trunk. Two amps power the system, so it can really rattle your teeth if you want! The trunk also features a custom, twin piston power open/closing system, which is something one doesn't see every day. Other recent updates include new halo headlights, a new wiring harness, anti-theft system, new starter, alternator, and weather stripping all around. This bright red '68 Mustang is ready to hit the highway with its new owner, so call or email our Houston Showroom today to make it yours!
