Description

Gateway Classic Cars of Louisville is proud to present this award-winning 1963 Mercury Meteor.

In 1963, Mercury called the Meteor "Spirit, Sparkle, and Brawn." This car is all three. A 2021 AACA National First Prize Winner, it stands among the finest Meteors in the country-original, correct, and quietly magnificent.

Power comes from the "Lightning 260" cubic-inch V8, paired with an automatic transmission. It starts easily, idles smooth, and drives like a Mercury should-steady, confident, unhurried. The engine bay gleams with concours-level detailing and factory accuracy, from the air cleaner to the last decal.

The body wears Sandshell Beige paint over a two-tone brown and beige interior. Chrome and stainless trim gleam, doors close with a solid click, and the dash still carries the proud "M-E-T-E-O-R" script. This car looks right because everything about it is right.

Factory air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes make this Meteor both rare and refined. Mercury's 1963 engineering focus-self-adjusting brakes, long-life chassis fittings, and quality you could feel-still shines here.

The previous owner was a devoted Mercury Meteor aficionado-well organized, and the kind of man every collector hopes to buy from. His care is visible in every inch, every sound, every start.

If you're searching for a car that captures grace without pretense, this AACA award-winning Meteor will speak to you. It's more than a fine Mercury-it's a fine moment in American design, preserved with love.
