Description

Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia is proud to digitally present this striking 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS finished in vibrant Corvette Yellow. This true 138-coded SS has been lovingly owned by the same caretaker since 1985, undergoing a full body-off-frame restoration where no expense was spared. The result is a car that not only turns heads but also delivers the kind of performance muscle car enthusiasts dream about.

Under the hood, you'll find a freshly rebuilt 396ci V8-sourced from a '69 Camaro-built to a high-performance spec and rated at 375 horsepower (Code JH, .060 over). This engine features a Lunati Solid Cam (#40208) with impressive lift and duration, ceramic-coated Hooker headers, and Flowmaster exhaust, delivering a throaty, unmistakable muscle car sound. For reliability and drivability, it's equipped with an MSD 6A ignition system, MSD HEI distributor, blaster coil, and a Demon 750 dual-feed carburetor mounted on an Edelbrock RPM intake.

Power is delivered through a crisp-shifting Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission paired with a Hurst Competition Plus shifter, ensuring an authentic and engaging driving experience. At the rear, a stout 12-bolt differential with 3.70 Richmond gears, Moser axles, and heat-treated spider gears puts the power to the pavement.

Inside, the Chevelle has been fully restored with black bucket seat interior, retaining its classic muscle car style while offering a fresh, factory-correct feel. Every detail was carefully chosen during the restoration, and extensive documentation-including receipts and photographs-is available to verify the build and craftsmanship that went into this machine.

Owned and loved, by the same individual for nearly four decades, this Chevelle SS is more than just a car-it's a passion project brought to life with true attention to detail and care. Whether you're looking to enjoy weekend cruises, add a serious collector piece to your garage, or simply own one of the most iconic muscle cars of the 1960s, this 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS is ready to deliver.
